Soft191 Duplicate File Finder Locate all duplicate files on your computer. Duplicate files can have the same name but different contents, or the same contents but different names. Some files are space wasters (identical in size and contents but stored on disk under different names). Other files with the same name can be different versions of an ActiveX control or DLL (dynamic link library) - which can cause system problems.
You select the path to search, and select a comparison method (at the very least "Filenames" or "Sizes"). You must also select a group of files to locate. This can be a wild card like *.* (all files) *.DLL (for all dynamic link libraries) readme.* (for all readme files) or a whole filename like myprog.exe. Compare filenames Compare sizes ...also compare contents Compare last modified date/times The program can compare any folders, files and file extensions to an 'ignore list' meaning that they will be ignored (not displayed) by the program. |
