Split/Join lets you split large files of any type (including documents, AVI, MPEG, EXE, RAR, ZIP etc) into a setof smaller files called pieces for easier distribution (for example, via email or over the internet).

Pieces can be easily re-joined to make the original file. The recipient of the pieces doesn't even need Split/Join to achieve this, because if necessary the program can make a special small program to do the job. Simply pass this on to your recipients, if they don't have Split/Join, so they can re-create the original file.

To split a file, either drag and drop it into the edit box next to the "File to split" button, or click the "File to split" button and choose a file. If you want to save the split pieces to another folder (other than where the original file is) then uncheck "Same folder as file" and choose a folder by clicking on the "Save to folder" button.

Specify a 'piece' size by entering a figure in the "split size" box. You will be informed how many pieces this will generate.
